Vanguard Inducted Into Hall of Fame

Vanguard Assurance Company Limited has been inducted into the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMG) Ghana Hall of Fame.

The company has therefore held a special thanksgiving service to God for making it possible for the induction into the CIMG Hall of Fame, Insurance Category.

The ceremony, which was characterized by praises and worship by directors, Management and staff of Vanguard Assurance, was also to dedicate the Hall of Fame award to God and ask for His blessing for the company to achieve greater heights.

Vanguard Assurance Company Limited having won the Best CIMG(Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana) Insurance Company of the year Award for the third consecutive year running has rewarded her clients through a Thank You promotion.

The Vanguard CIMG Thank You promotion which began last October saw two draws, the mini Draw which took place in the month of December, 2010 with as many as seven consolation prize winners and the main draw which took place at the end of March 2011 with five more winners.

At a brief ceremony held at the head office of Vanguard Assurance Company Limited here in Accra, an Accra - based lawyer, Mrs Stella Bentsil Enchil won the ultimate prize of a Brand New Toyota Fortuner.
The second prize went to NHV Aviation Company who won a double door fridge. A 21 inch colour TV went to Albert N.A. Lomofio who works with Cal Bank here in Accra whilst a ghetto blaster went to Micheal Adjei for placing fourth. The fifth winner, Kojo Appiah Kubi, won a standing fan.

During the presentation ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Gideon Amenyedor of Vanguard Assurance Company Limited, said the company since its inception years ago, introduced several innovative products for clients to choose from. He said the promotion which was part of the company social responsibility, was initiated to encourage Ghanaians to embrace and patronize the service of insurance like that which Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd presents as they will stand to derive several benefits.

Mr. Amenyedor added that, for three consecutive times, our clients have voted us, as the CIMG Insurance Company of the Year for being a company which is very innovative in clients service and social responsibility coupled with the payment of genuine claims promptly.

Vanguard Assurance Company Limited, the three consecutive times CIMG Best Insurance Company of the Year award winner has out doored her latest addition of Friday-wear in an innovative way, by extending the wearing of local traditional clothes to include Thursday.
This innovation is aimed at creating a more relaxed atmosphere as well as to serve clients and support the local textile industry in the Country.

At the launching ceremony of the new Friday cloth, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vanguard Assurance, Mr. Gideon Amenyedor, revealed that the brain behind the extension of the African wear to two working days, is to make working conditions easier for staff who have to wear shirts, suit and flying ties every working day.

He further stated that Ghanaians tend to have less reverence for our local cloth, and charged all Ghanaians to make use of African wear in order to promote the rich cultural heritage of our country.

The Executive Vice-Chairman of Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd., Mr. Daniel Awuah Darko, was on his part hopeful that the new cloth would contribute to creating a conducive environment for staff to give off their best at work.

JOB TITLE

MOTOR SURVEYOR / ASSESOR

TASK:

1.    To Survey damaged motor accident vehicles to determine extent of damage and submit reports on them.

2.    To advice on technical issues relating to motor vehicle.

3.    To review estimates with automobile repair shops and submit reports for endorsement or otherwise and be able to defend recommendations in reports.

4.    Any other duties assigned.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Must be able to use logic and reasoning in approaching issues relating to task

Must be willing to work under pressure

REQUIREMENTS:

•    Motor vehicle Technician Certificate (Pt. II and Full Technological certificate.)
OR
•    Higher National Diploma in Automobile Engineering.

•    Must have had a working experience in motor surveying and assessment.

Vanguard Assurance Thank You Promotion Mini Draw

Vanguard Assurance Company Limited, the current CIMG Insurance Company of the year has fulfilled promise made to her clients by running a mini draw of the Vanguard CIMG Thank You promotion the 31st of December 2010.

The mini draw which was supervised by an officer of The Gaming Commission of Ghana took place at the Head office of the company in the presence of the CEO as well as some management members of the Company. In all, seven coupons were drawn for seven lucky winners.
Samiva Ghana Limited came tops winning a double door fridge followed by Mrs Vida A. Amponsah as the second Prize winner of a table top fridge. The others were Mr. Obro Franklin Mansseh and Mr. Samuel Tufour each winning a 21 inch color TV, Mr. Philip Mensah in the fifth position with a Ghetto Blaster and the sixth and seventh positions of a standing fan each going to Mr. Sylvester Agbodo and Colderge Limited.

Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd in fulfillment of its promises to pay claims promptly, has once again paid an amount of Sixty Thousand US Dollars ($60,000.00) and Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC10, 000.00) to the management of Midland International Limited, this is in respective of two(2) vehicles insured by the company.
Mr. Godwin Amoo, the Managing Director of Horizon Insurance Brokers received the cheques on behalf of Midland International Limited. He was full of praise for the company in honoring the claims within six days that the loss was reported to Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd. He further expressed his heartfelt appreciation and said Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd always fulfills its promises when it comes to claim payment.

Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd Held Fun Games at BOJO BEACH

Staff of Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd held fun games at Bojo beach resort on the 3rd July 2010. As part of the activities, the management recognized the hard work and dedication of some staff members whose birthday fell within January and June this year and has awarded them for their relentless efforts by organising a birthday ceremony for the first quarter celebrants of the company.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr.Gideon Amenyedor, said the company was committed to motivating staff members to give off their very best.

He also expressed optimism that the mass birthday celebrations would continue for the rest of the year for other staff members as well if they achieve their target.

There were recreational activities such as football games, volley ball, dancing and swimming. It was all fun as management and staff members participated in games of their choice.

Vanguard Pays Claim of USD29,250.00 to Koala Limited

It will be recalled that about a month ago, Koala Shopping center was engulfed in flames caused by an electrical hitch within the air conditional system which led to a temporary closure of the shopping center.

Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd in fulfillment of her mission to pay claims promptly has paid an amount of twenty nine thousand, two hundred and fifty dollars (USD 29, 250.00) to the management of Koala Limited being full settlement of claim request for damage sustained.

During the presentation, Mr. Samuel Manu Quartey, the president of the Vanguard Sales Executives reiterated the need for members of the general public especially the commercial institutions to ensure that in this season of floods and fires, they are adequately protected from any such mishaps.

In his response the Managing Director of Koala Limited, Mr. Imad Woley said that, they have never experienced a claim in their entire 20 years of existence but had heard several stories of insurance claims and its delays in payments. His friends and relatives have also enquired about the availability of insurance on the shopping center following the loss sustained and whether Koala was really going to be compensated. He further stated that, now he can actually go back to them because he has heard, seen and experienced prompt claims payment with Vanguard Assurance.

He was full of praise and thanked Vanguard Assurance for honoring promptly her part of the insurance contract and expressed appreciation for the support received from Vanguard ever since the loss was sustained.

Vanguard Assurance Company Limited Marks End Of Year Get-Together

On the 11th December 2009 Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd. marked its end of year get-together at the forecourt of the company’s premises. All staff of the company including branch representatives were present. In attendance was the Chief Executive Officer and management team as well as some staff of Vanguard Life Assurance Co. Ltd.
Management and members of staff took opportunity to dance the year away with good music, and treat themselves to some good food with a lot to drink.

Mr. Courage Agbeko of Retail Relations Dept. and Mr. Joseph Mensah driver were awarded 2009 best workers.

In recognition of the saying that “behind every successful man there is a woman”, the management of Vanguard Assurance Co. Ltd. recognized the wives of the award winners, in absentia for their contribution to the work of their husbands.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Gideon Amenyedor advised the staff to continue to be customer focused in dealing with clients.

Mr. Courage Agbeko holds a Bsc Admin (insurance option) degree from the University Of Ghana Business School and a candidate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.

Mr. Courage Agbeko joined Vanguard in 2005 as a Sales Executive; he is now in the Retail Relations Dept. in-charge of claims and underwriting.

Vanguard Assurance Company (VAC) the premier indigenous insurance underwriter celebrated its 35th year of operation last Monday.

The company was founded by a very great entrepreneur and philanthropist, Nana Awuah Ampem of blessed memory on October 4, 1974. Since inception, Vanguard Assurance has made remarkable achievements in the delivery of insurance services, top on the achievement list include prompt payment of genuine claims, innovative social responsibility and twice winner of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Best Insurance Company of the Year Award.

Apart from this achievement the company also initiated the first taxi project which has given drivers to own their own personal taxi cabs.
